About St Lukes Hospice – Sheffield
About This Shop
St Luke’s Hospice cares for people aged 18 and above throughout Sheffield who have terminal illnesses.
Last year we cared for around 1,800 patients and provided dedicated support services for their families, carers, and friends too – helping about 6,000 people all told.
We aim to control their symptoms, alleviate pain, and give people the best possible quality of life – all free of charge, both at the St Luke’s In-Patient Centre and in the wider community.
Our Patient and Family Support Services provide individual programmes of therapies, and treatments and help patients to live independently at home for as long as possible.
Government funding via the NHS Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group covers a declining proportion of the income we need – we are currently needing to raise £9 million of the £12 million total income required each year to deliver our services and carry on caring.
Our charity shops and eBay shop make a vital contribution to this income and are always in need of good quality donations of furniture, electrical items, clothing, shoes, jewellery and accessories, homeware and decorative items, books, toys, DVDs, CDs, and vinyl.
Over 700 people have signed up to volunteer for St Luke’s, giving their time, skills, and energy to support the work we do, which we simply wouldn’t be able to do without them.
There are lots of exciting volunteer opportunities at St Luke’s, including across our retail chain.
